Delivery of a 13-Foot Type 4 High Bed on a Unimog U5000

Breda – Bliss Mobil has recently delivered a special expedition vehicle: a 13-foot Type 4 High Bed mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5000. The Unimog was chosen for its legendary off-road capabilities, reliability, and versatility.

The Truck: Unimog U5000 – A Strong Base for Any Expedition

To prepare the truck for long trips, Bliss Mobil made several modifications. The vehicle received full TÜV approval as a camper, ensuring it meets all regulations. Rear lights were moved to allow extra storage, a diesel heater was connected to the fuel tank for efficient heating. The entire truck was repainted in Olivgrau RAL 7002 to match the Type 4 unit, giving it a clean and unified look.

The Unit: 13-Foot Type 4 High Bed – Comfort and Practical Design

The 13-foot Type 4 High Bed shows Bliss Mobil’s focus on comfort and functionality. Its lightweight but strong aluminum frame maximizes interior space and storage. The High Bed layout makes it easy to organize living, sleeping, and expedition gear efficiently.

The interior is both practical and stylish. Upholstery in MILES 190 Onyx and Butter Crisp flooring create a durable, elegant environment. The vehicle includes a fully equipped kitchen for six, a wall-mounted washing machine, and a large outdoor kitchen with bamboo fronts, Fenix countertops, and a Corian sink, allowing self-sufficient living even in remote areas.

First Expedition: Testing in Morocco

After official delivery, the client tested the vehicle on a Bliss Mobil owner expedition in Morocco. Traveling through desert tracks, rocky passes, and remote landscapes allowed the client to experience the truck and Type 4 unit under real conditions, testing off-road performance, energy independence, and living comfort.
