Delivery of a 15 foot on Unimog U1550 L45

A special Bliss Mobil left our factory in Breda this week: A 15 foot unit - Standard on an Unimog U1550 L45. This combination is unique because normally, we use the Unimog for our 13 foot units. This Unimog U1550 has an exceptional long wheelbase of 4.500 mm, which is quite remarkable and only around 82 of this type have been built. In its former life it was a fire truck by the Katastrophenschutz in Germany.

Special truck

For our customer, who has an agricultural background, a Unimog has always had a special appeal. Since a Unimog is a perfect match for the 13 foot Bliss Mobil units, this was also the starting point for our customer. However, as the project progressed, he fell in love with the layout of our 15 foot unit, which offers a fixed double bed in the rear and a large seating area on the inside. Finding the right Unimog that fitted the 15 foot Unit - Standard, proved to be quite a challenge, but finally, we found the perfect Unimog U1550 L45 with the long wheelbase.

Features

Needless to say, the vehicle was thoroughly overhauled and rebuilt. The Unimog got a new custom drivers cabin, different gear boxes and large 14:00R20 tires. The driver's cabin was lengthened, and made higher, to accommodate space for the dog and cat, who will join the overland travels!

15 foot Unit - Standard

The 15 foot unit fits neatly to this Unimog and allows our customers to welcome guests on the road. In addition to the fixed double bed, the cosy sofa in this unit can also be converted into a comfortable bed for two people. Thus, up to 4 people can benefit from a good night's sleep. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking, such as a fridge, a freezer, a combi-microwave with baking and grilling function and plenty of storage space. Another advantage of this floor plan is the separate toilet and shower, which are located opposite each other. The bathroom door can be used as a room divider and offers more privacy. Our customers have added other accessories to the Bliss Mobil to make their life on the road even more comfortable, like the Bidet set, a towel heater, folding sink, vacuum cleaner and a washing machine. On the outside of the unit there is a motorbike carrier on the rear that can accommodate (E)-bikes and a spare-tyre. The batwing awning provides shelter and allows them to stay outside when it is sunny and to use the outdoor kitchen in all weather conditions. With the 360° view IR camera system and additional exterior lights, safety and visibility is ensured even off the beaten track.

Truck passage and garage

The truck passage from the unit to the driver's cabin does not only guarantee a safe entrance, but also increases the space available. Thanks to the foldable table in the seating area, it is also easy to reach. The garage, located underneath the bed, has been equipped with the garage storage box system and two 230 Volt plugs for charging the electric bike batteries while driving.

Travel plans

The purpose of this summer travel destinations is to get to know their Bliss Mobil and Scandinavia and Scotland are on their wish-list. After touring Europe and scaling down work, they plan to travel the Silk Road, Alaska and Iceland.
