Delivery of a 13 foot Middle Couch on an Unimog U5023

We have recently completed the delivery of a 13 foot unit - Middle Couch on a Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5023. This specific unit is also the first Middle Couch configuration we have built for the 13 foot model, showcasing our ability to introduce new layouts while maintaining the core principles of our proven and modular standardized designs. This is the customer’s second Bliss Mobil unit, highlighting his trust in our expedition-ready units.

Customized features for enhanced comfort and functionality

The 13 foot unit is compact yet offers a surprisingly spacious interior, optimized for long-term travel. This unit includes several special modifications to align with the customer’s preferences. The kitchen sink, larger fridge, different kitchen cabinet layout are all modifications on customer request. The seating area in a Middle Couch model provides a comfortable lounge space with direct access to the comfortable double bed. A single large mattress and additional reading lights in each corner complete the sleeping area. This layout has a spacious ambience and, together with the practical kitchen, ensures optimum use of space. The combined shower and toilet at the front is complemented by a practical folding sink.

Built for challenging expeditions

Energy efficiency and power autonomy were key considerations for this customer. Therefore we installed two additional Victron Li-Ion 24V/200Ah battery packs, increasing the battery capacity to 800Ah, over 20 kWh. The unit features extra 230V power outlets in the interior, and an additional USB connector, ensuring sufficient power supply for various devices. The unit is also equipped with a motorbike carrier with sand plates and a bicycle kit for flexible choice of secondary mobility on long overland journeys. A batwing awning with extendable arms and LED lighting provides shade and protection. The Unimog has been upgraded with our in-house developed and manufactured torsion-free subframe. A robust construction that withstands high torsional forces, protects the unit and also determines the driving behaviour. To comply with the road traffic regulations, marker lights have also been attached to the subframe and rear bumpers. A Bird View camera system further enhances manoeuvrability and provides excellent visibility all around the Unimog. With these extensive modifications, this Bliss Mobil is now perfectly prepared for extended overland travel, combining comfort, functionality, and off-road performance.

The first travel destinations for the customer are Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, regions known for their remote and challenging terrain.
