Hot water is provided by an electric boiler that matches high marine-quality standards. It has a AISI 316 stainless steel inner tank, a robust polypropylene casing and an overpressure safety valve. It also features a mixing valve and extra thick, polyurethane insulation to keep your water hot for hours.
The boiler runs on 230V and has a 1.2kW heating element, enabling the 20 litre boiler to heat the water to >70°C (158°F) in as little as 25-30 minutes. Heating water up to shower temperature (around 40°C) is achieved in a matter of 10-15 minutes. Once heated, the temperature loss is between 2.5 – 6 degrees Celsius (4.5 – 10 degrees Fahrenheit) per hour. We have purposely chosen for a relatively compact boiler, since this is the most energy efficient way of obtaining hot water.
A large boiler makes sense if four persons want to utilise the shower directly after one another, which almost never happens. With a heating time to >70°C of just 25 minutes, you are not wasting energy on heating water that will ultimately not be used anyway.
The boiler can be programmed with a timer via the smart home function. This way the boiler only heats the water at predefined time intervals and by doing so one saves energy throughout the day.
Taking a hot shower outside is possible by using the water outlet, positioned in the connection box.
