Leave the beaten path
to make travel dreams come true

Namibia is one of the world’s last great wilderness areas and offers some truly magnificent desert scenery. Namibia’s extreme landscapes are a big part of why the country is so unique. It is a wilderness destination of outstanding beauty at every turn: from the towering dunes in various colors and unforgiving coastline to wonderful wildlife hotspots.

Are you up for an adventurous expedition? Leave the beaten path to make travel dreams come true. Let’s go to Namibia!

All our expeditions consist of highlights only. Not just as far as experiences go, but that includes the route and challenges as well. You are guaranteed to return home with a suitcase full of priceless travel memories.

Expedition

Driving the sand beaches of
Skeleton Coast

After arriving in Walvis Bay, the expedition starts after a short transfer in the moon landscape near Swakopmund. We soon get off the beaten track and head north over miles of beaches to the Skeleton Coast. The Skeleton Coast connects the northern part of Namibia with the Atlantic Ocean and is home of the largest breeding place of cape fur seals and countless shipwrecks. The desert lions and elephants, that survive Namibia’s harshest drylands, are also found exclusively within the Skeleton Coast and Damaraland region. From Skeleton Coast Park we drive into Damaraland in search of the black rhino. On foot. That’s not only the best way to spot them, but also a unique experience. Keep your eyes peeled, because when we continue our way after the rhino safari, you can also encounter zebras, giraffes, kudus or springboks on your way.

Wildlife in Etosha
National Park

The next days of the trip are all about wildlife as we continue northeast to Etosha National Park: one of the largest national parks in Africa. Time to spot all the animals that we have not yet checked off our list! Here you have the chance to see four of the big five.

Diverse landscape of
inland Namibia

After our wildlife adventure we head south through riverbeds and soft sand through the interior of Namibia, where landscapes are constantly changing, giving you a very diverse experience. Via ‘the forgotten trails’ we eventually drive to Spitzkoppe, one of Namibia’s significant mountain peaks. Of course it is not just hard work behind the wheel. You’ll also make the most fantastic memories outside of the expedition truck.

Optional: Okavango Delta

Ps. Do you have an extra 3 or 6 days?
Expedition 4 (July 26 to August 9, 2022) starts in Swakopmund (Namibia) and ends in Maun (Botswana). This expedition therefore takes 15 days instead of 12 days.

For expedition 4 there is the possibility to extend the trip by 3 extra nights with a visit to the Okavango Delta. Nothing comes close to traveling the Okavango Delta from the Panhandle in northern Botswana down to Thamalakane River Lodge in the south by boat, exploring the Moremi Game Reserve and the famous Chief’s Island through the waterways filled with wildlife and birdlife. This Okavango Delta package is for the true adventurer, in addition to sleeping in a luxury lodge, you also camp overnight on a private island.

Unique travel concept

Bliss Mobil and Overland Travel have already organized successful expeditions in large parts of Africa and Scandinavia. Once again, we have combined our knowledge, experience and specialities to introduce a unique and adventurous expedition with a rental vehicle.

During the expeditions with a rental truck, you make your own journey but you also benefit from the pleasure and convenience of travelling in a small group with an experienced guide.

Practical information

Convoy and teamwork
During this trip, we will have to drive in convoy on some occasions. Mainly during departure and arrival, but also on difficult off-road terrain where you might need to help your fellow travellers. This is exactly why we do these expeditions in small groups; to help each other with challenging passages and any potential recovery. This makes it possible to get to beautiful locations where you would not be able to experience alone.

In many cases you can decide yourself whether you would like to travel independently or if you prefer to join the other adventurers. You navigate by using the road book and the navigation system that we will provide, in which all the waypoints are already programmed. At the end of the day you will meet each other to spend the night. Support and help is always nearby.

Intensity
No experience is required for this expedition, only a C1 driving license which allows you to drive a vehicle up to 7.500 kg. The intensity of the trip will partly be determined by factors such as weather conditions and your personal physical condition. A healthy body and mind, as well as a well-prepared vehicle, ensure that you will be able to enjoy this trip to the fullest.

The travel pace guarantees that a sufficient number of sights can be visited.
The expedition has been planned in such a way that most of the daily travel distances can be covered in half a day.
