A 13 foot unit - High Bed Type 4 is crossing the Atlantic destined for North America, not just as cargo, but as part of a bold new expedition vehicle. Although we have already shipped multiple units to other continents, this shipment is more than logistics as the United States are the “home” of Overland Travelling. Once married to the already waiting Unimog 2450L, this powerhouse combination will be ready to take on some of the toughest terrains the continent has to offer.

Dutch engineering meets German muscle on American soil

Built in our facility in Breda, the Netherlands, the 13 foot unit represents a refined balance of comfort, self-sufficiency, and durability. The shipment process is a dedicated operation and this unit is carefully packed and containerized for ocean freight.

Once it arrives in Colorado, our US team will mount the unit on an Unimog 2450L, a military-grade truck known for its unmatched off-road performance. The result will not just be an expedition vehicle, but a mobile base-camp built for global exploration in luxury.

Ready for upcoming adventures

Every Bliss Mobil unit is built to be expedition-ready from day one, but for this 13 foot High Bed heading to the U.S., the customer opted for a host of upgrades that push functionality, comfort, and off-grid performance even further.

To enhance autonomy, this unit includes two additional Victron Li-Ion battery packs, significantly extending the available power supply for long stretches off-grid. Combined with the US-specific 230V/110V charging and inverting system, this setup is fully prepared for North American power standards.

Comfort is clearly a priority, too. The bathroom is fitted with a 24V towel heater and a folding sink combined with a mirror, maximizing usability in limited space. A magnetic mosquito net at the entrance keeps the outdoors where it belongs, while the Arctic Package adds heating protection for tanks, hoses, and doors, making cold-weather travel no issue at all. The pre-filter system on the water inlet makes a water purifier unnecessary. But that is not all. On the inside, the foldable table provides more flexibility in the living area. The truck passage enables easy access to the driver's cabin and provides extra security such as the 360° infrared camera system and the internal alarm system with remote connectivity. It will also carry a heavy-duty motorbike carrier with sand ladders on the rear, as well as a roof-rack with access ladders and additional lighting. The outdoor kitchen is the ideal cooking equipment to enjoy outdoor living outmost.
